The Guests are met along Kottayam- Kumily Road NH 183 at the entrance of Mundakayam Club established by Planters in 1912.

We drive 10 kms To Evergreen 20 Minutes North for plantation Visit and interpretations.

At Evergreen we receive the Guest with a welcome Drink and few minutes to relax and refresh.

The Programme starts with a Visit to the Kutikul Rubber estate rubber factory functioning from 1920. Just 5 Minutes away.

Preferred Time to reach factory in 12.30 -1 Pm when the latex arrive from fields in Carboys

By 1933 the factory started producing Pale Latex crepe (which makes Rubber Latex into laces rolled and Bundled for sale.

Here we show tapping of Rubber on a tree and explain the procurement, Cocoa plants etc..

After this we may Visit its pineapple division, done as intercrop for rubber. We do have Pepper and Poly-house cultivation of Vegetables and seasonal fruits on the drive.

Here we have a sacred Grove, Lush with vegetation (the place would be 3 Degrees less hot and refreshing compared to other areas in the same areas .Here we have a simple ribbed smoke sheet processing Shed, (the Normal way of making rubber) which we explain.

We move up to about 2 Kms on a higher gradient along very good road and see ten miles around of Sheer Panorama, of Peermade, Vagamon and we point out the Location where J.J Murphy Pioneer in Rubber who established the first commercial rubber plantation In India by 1903 is buried, He was keen to be buried along with his labourers and had marked the site at the Vantage point overlooking his estate.

His estate Called Murphy’s Estate of 1300 acres on the Eastern slopes which is now a thriving Community of Medium plantation which was bought by us after his death in 1957 and sold later in 1970s.

All along the interaction we give a detailed interpretation on Plantation History of the Western Ghats.
The whole Visit takes 1.Hour 30 Minutes -2 Hours Back to Evergreen refresh again and off to the next destination.

  • Visit with Refreshment at Evergreen followed by visit to Rubber Plantation.
    Number of Persons 1-5 = 700 /Per person, 6 Pax to 10 Pax = 600/- per person- 11 to 20 Pax the charge would be = 500/- per person.
  • Visit with Refreshment at Evergreen ,visit to Rubber Plantation followed by Lunch.
    Number of Persons 1-5 = 1400 per Person. 6 Pax to 10 Pax = 1100 per person -11 to 20 Pax the charge would be = 900/- per person.
